Which Oil Do You Use?

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I'm planning to give my Focus an oil change.

As this is my first Diesel car, I'm just wondering which oil to buy? What do you guys use?

My Focus has the 1.8 lynx engine...

Thanks in advance.

5w 30 fully synthetic would be what you need.

Ps, it holds 5.6 litres according to the book, so you'll need to take this into account when buying the oil.

The genuine ford oil is not all that expensive - well not as bad as you'd expect. IIRC it's about £30 for 6 litres. Other than that I would go for castrol magnatec 5w/30 A1 which I believe might be the same as the ford stuff anyway?
