Brake Pad Replacement.....

Featured Replies

alright chaps, my focus is only two weeks old, bought it from a ford dealer its a 59 plate with 35k on the clock. i noticed paperwork from a year ago saying the brakes may need looking at.

I have noticed they are not quite as sharp as they should be. would this just be a case of getting some more break pads to replace the old ones? i could do this with a friend who is into diagnostics and an ex mechaninc.

the rear wheels are drums so is this any easier/ harder then the front ones?

again, anyhelp would be super!

It depends what 'the brakes may need looking at' actually means.

The car should have been through the workshop when you bought it so low brake pads should have been spotted.

I would double check the discs and pads, you may want to change the brake fluid though and see of that helps

Yeah it was given a service and mot but I guess they just pass things rather than try to fail them as that would be more cost to the garage?
