Bumper Smoothing Any Tips?

Hi I'm in the process of smoothing my front bumper (so the numberplate groove has gone) as I want to make my mk6 fiesta a little different and I don't just want to make it onto a straight st replica like everyone else so I've got a later mk6 bumper (mines a 04 plate) and iv brought a pair of fog lights for it, I've sprayed them gloss black as well as the grilles and ill be getting the st rear bumper + other bits soon

So i was wondering if anyone has any tips? I'm about halfway through smoothing the bumper already and it's a bit of a job, been doing if for the last 2 days. taken a few pics to post up a how to guide but I wouldn't follow it if I was you lol think I've done it the hard way any help is appreciated cheers
