Power Steering Leak

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I have a 2005 focus 1.6. Noticed last week a couple of drips of oil on the floor drivers side. Noisy steering today so checked level and needed topping up. Had. Look at drivers side if engine and can see oil on lower crossmember which looks like Power steering fluid.

I know the pump is on this side but everything is difficult to see.

Any advic on where it is leaking would be mot welcome.

Second problem in three weeks of ownership and only 39000 miles

Regards

Steve

its a common problem and will likely be the hose to the dealers it is im afraid

Many thanks-will report back!

Had this problem over the xmas. The problem was an elbow joint that had cracked and leaked the fluid. Make sure not to drive the car coz once the fluid tank empties you run the risk of damaging the pump and worse still end up with no steering
