Please Help Me With My Car - Loud Knocking Noise

Hello everyone,

I am really hoping you will be able to give me some advice about my ford focus TDCI 1.6 2006 reg.

I only bought the car recently and now the top end of the engine is making a very loud knocking noise. It's a constant noise from the moment I start the car until the moment it is switched off and it is coming from the top end, cam-belt side.

I am terrified it is going to be very costly and won't be able to afford to have the car fixed.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what this might be

    I'm no mechanic but that does not sound good. I would get your car into your local garage ASAP to find out what is wrong. You don't have to go to a Ford dealer any decent garage will be able to identify this. It might be expensive but if this is something serious it will be much more expensive if something like a cambelt lets go.

    Forgot to ask, did you buy from a garage? If so did you get a warranty and if you did you need to get back to them.
