Mk7.5 Drls Dim When Indicating

Featured Replies

Any of you guys experianced this when indicating? The DRL will dim on the same side as your indicating.

Happens with most cars with LED DRL's, makes it easier to distinguish the indicator.

I've seen Audi's do that. Can't say i've noticed it on anything else

Wow Dave that was quick :)

That would make sense.

As far as I know it's meant to, as mentioned it makes it easier to see the indicators.

Cheers all.

As usual the forum comes up trump's :)

Mine does this too - brightens back up when the indicator cancels. Noticed it in a shop window a few days ago lol

I believe i have read its something to do if the DRL LED's are in the headlight or within a distance of the indicator then they have to dim when indicating. I have this and think it looks pretty good and makes it stand out more!

As said its basically so that its easier to distinguish the indicator. The drls basically make it harder to see the indicator if theyre on full wack

That's why technically drl are supposed to switch off when headlights are on.
