Help With An Issue - 2003 Fiesta 1.4 Petrol

Featured Replies

Hello,

My mrs has a 1.4 Petrol 2003 Fiesta, shortly after we got the car it had a oil leak which was coming down the front of the engine, this went back to the garage we bought from and they sorted the problem out, Cam Seals i believe it was. Now i checked the oil this morning and it was on the low side so i topped it up and just had a look under the car and now oil appears to be leaking and coming down the rear of the engine :-( we are still within our 3 month warranty period and i am really starting to think we have bought a lemon. Any ideas what it could be :-(

I had a leak at the back of my engine fixed under warranty which wouldve cost me about £300 to fix as the gear box had to come out to fix it so id get it back in pronto before the warranty is up mate

It could well be the cam cover gasket. Take it straight back to them.

I think that might have been the problem with mine it was definately a gasket cause the guy wasnt sure if it would be covered under warranty but luckily it was

Hopefully it is the Rocker Cover Gasket and something they can sort quickly and simple. Abit more information i have just spoken to the garage and they are having it back in on Monday. When we had a oil leak shortley after getting the car i double checked what was done when i spoke to them, he changed the Cam Seals as well as changing the head gasket as he thought the oil was leaking out of the edge of the head gasket on one small section. He also put a new Cambelt etc on the car so he did a fair amount of work to fix the problem before and all has been fine for the last few weeks. Until i noticed the oil was low. Apart from this the car is very tidy inside and out so i am reluctant to get a refund and give the car back.

we will see how it goes.
