Can anyone help please.

I have a 2004 on a 53 plate mondeo zetec S tdci 130bhp. iv swapped the
bare engine as mt old one the head cracked. and now it wont start on its
own (easystart used) and is kicking out loads of thick black smoke and
throttle response is really slow and slighty lumpy. The car isnt bring
up any fault codes at all. I have checked eveything i can think of and
still no joy
