Small Mk7 Door Card Mod

Featured Replies

We know how boring the speaker grill looks so I thought I would mod it up a bit. Looks better I think.

Grill blackened and surround lined with silver.

Thanks :)

Quite a simple change, and yet it makes it look so much more elegant.

That does look good! Think i will do that aswell! Do you have to take the door card off to get the grill off to paint ?

Thanks!

No need to take the card off as it's all moulded anyway-there is no separate grille.

I used a silver paint pen from a stationers to do the outer bit (although you can use silver model paint with a small brush if you are careful) then used a large marker pen for the black. Although I may go over it again with a gloss black which will look better.

You have to have a steady hand and take your time!

I have got used to it now and it just looks normal although it's a simple mod.

Could you possibly snap a close-up/closer picture please? ^_^

Thanks!

Ahh ok, i thought you had taken the grill off and spray painted it, and the same with the grill, that does sound a lot easier though!! Thanks :)

Nice. Simple, minor mods are nice little details. Good work.
