Tigercatkid
Hi Chaps & Chapesses, I am well into an ST170 rebuild project and have gotten over my initial disaster of a bent conrod (see another post) by getting another short engine ! Well now, I am in need of a set of piston rings - could any of you kind folk point in the direction of a decent supplier ? I know Burton Power, but does anyone know anyone else I could try ? Thanks
Steelie600
why do you need rings?? Just replacing or have you bored it out?? Any reputable car parts supplier will supply you with OE spec rings, or do you specifically want upgraded rings?? If so why do you think you need em?? Tigercatkid
Hi, The engine I am rebuilding has seen over 70,000 miles - I did not see it run and have no idea if it was burning oil etc - as it is now all apart, I thought it a good idea to replace all the parts that wear. No re-bore, just std sized rings. I have had some problems with the usual OE suppliers not wanting to quote for ST170 rings - I have assumed (maybe incorrectly) that they are a different spec to the standard 2.0L rings - are they ??? Or can I just bung in a standard ring set ?? Anyway, any advice appreciated.... :D
