Mk3 Locking Wheel Nuts Starting To Get Surface Rust

Featured Replies

wondering if anyone has some advice on how to clean and protect their locking wheel nuts from surface rust. was washing the car the other day and noticed that their was some surface rust starting to appear on the locking nuts.

:)

i just took mine off and cleaned them off with a dremmel then sprayed them silver

What do you use to clean your wheels?

The ones on my Fiesta got really bad after using Wonder Wheels. I now use bilberry, although only had my Focus a few months.

I think some rust is inevitable on the locking nuts as I believe they are steel.

sand them down and paint them black?

I use Meguiars hot rims

You could ditch em completely and swap em for some mcgaurds

Hi, my Mk4 Mondeo's locking wheel nuts quickly rusted after using wonder wheels but my Foci's are perfect because I haven't. Quite clearly wonder wheels isn't suited to unprotected metal or alloy and it states so.
