Hello , ever since I bought my ford fiesta 1.6 zetec s last year it seems to go threw stages of haveing a lot more power than other times , for instance for about a week it will feel powerfull and nippy as they say then the next week can feel very slow and takes a lot more time to accelerate even tho I have done nothing different , when it feels powerfull the acceleration peddle feels a little bit heavier to push down and when it hasn't got as much power the peddle feels a lot lighter :s it does this every few days which is confusing and annoying , the engine management light has recently come on but it was doing this since I got it and as its due a service I think the lights for that.

Can any one tell me what's wrong or has any 1 had similar problems with there zetec s ?

my 5p - sometimes could do with the outside temp, i to use to experiance this, one day my car go like a jet fighter and the next a steam loco :o . i was told that on colder days you get a better performance than on hot day.

Try lubricating your accelerator cable

Ok cheers , would getting a better quality air filter work ? 1 that will drop straight In the air box as a direct replacement because I've heard some of them suck in the cold air

They have electronic accelerator pedals so there isn't and cables to lubricate.
