The CL build level did not come with remote central locking, it was on the LX build level and above only.

You could try grafting the parts from a higher build level but would probably mean a replacement ECU and all ancillary parts from there.

If he already has central locking, can't he simply get an alarm system that will do that? It should cost him around 100 pounds and he will also have extra security (and possibly pay less insurance).

Edit: Found this. Seems really cheap and easy to install.

Hi and thank you for your replies I looked at the link you
sent (giwrgos_ath) do you know anyone that has fitted one .as a few years ago I
fitted a similar thing to a ford transit and I had to take the door panels off
,Do you know if this is the case for this ,as I don’t fancy taking the door panels
off

yes the door panels need removed dont tear them though

I haven't used that specific item. I believe you should contact that company and ask them. I'm pretty sure it depends on the car.

In my car, i had an aftermarket alarm fitted that was operated using the buttons on my original key. That alarm was fitted behind the glove box and was somehow connected directly to the car's ECU.

Cheer giwrgos will do mate

Behind the drivers kick panel just in front of the door, there are a bunch of wires that go through to the door, the pick ups for the central locking can be accessed from there, and any live feeds from behind the fuse box
