trsuk1 Posted May 12, 2013 Share Posted May 12, 2013 Hi all ,Can anyone help me I have just bought a 51 plate ford focus CL DT Di 5 door hatchback diesel as you will allraedy know it has central locking but only with the key.Can anyone tell me can I make this so that it is remote controle central locking and if so what will I need to do this. Stoney871 Posted May 12, 2013 Share Posted May 12, 2013 The CL build level did not come with remote central locking, it was on the LX build level and above only. You could try grafting the parts from a higher build level but would probably mean a replacement ECU and all ancillary parts from there. It should cost him around 100 pounds and he will also have extra security (and possibly pay less insurance). Edit: Found this. Seems really cheap and easy to install. giwrgos_ath Posted May 13, 2013 Share Posted May 13, 2013 I haven't used that specific item. I believe you should contact that company and ask them. I'm pretty sure it depends on the car. In my car, i had an aftermarket alarm fitted that was operated using the buttons on my original key. That alarm was fitted behind the glove box and was somehow connected directly to the car's ECU.
