Remote Boot Unlock Not Working

Featured Replies

Hi, I have just got a 2003 Fusion 3 and am very happy with it, apart from the boot doesn't open with either the remote button on the dash or the remote key. It will only open when physically using the key. Has anyone got any clues please?

Thanks Keith.

In the boot there is a solenoid that operates the remote functions for both the dash button and the remote button, I would suggest you try there first.

It could be as simple as a detached/broken wire or the solenoid has had it's day and needs replacing.

Of course it could also be that the fuse had blown.

Hi Hubby, apologies been away and just picked it up. Thanks, it does look like the solenoid plunger that is sticking.

Likely the part has had it, I replaced mine with an old Fiesta part. Easy fit and going strong 2yrs on. Saved £40 on dealer price too.
