Lost Gears 3,4 And 5

Evening all.

I have a 2005 fiesta st

This evening, i suddenly lost gears 3,4 and 5.

1,2 and reverse work.

However, when in these gears there is a loud whining noise.

Anyone any suggestions?

    Its a snapped pinion bolt whatever one of those is!

    Just got very expensive.

    Sounds like the gearbox needs to be rebuilt, may be more cost effective to replace the whole box with a S/H one, its a big job and labour wont be cheap (as you know)
