What does everyone think ford will make the next RS model? Personally I think theres a Fiesta RS in the planning as im sure they normally go by whats hot in the rally world at the time :)

Well my logic is the mk 7 fiesta is getting used a lot by Ford rally folk ie Ken block etc so would make sense and there hasn't been a fiesta RS for a while now

Only thing is it'd kill Focus ST sales so it might not ever come to existence.

Also there's no real place for it either, people wanting above 200bhp tend to go for the next class up in car, you get odd special editions where they push an extra 10bhp from the super mini's like the VXR Corsa Nurburgring edition, but that's about it. It'd have to be something a lot more to put RS on the back, and I don't feel that could happen with the way the market is. I feel a 2.0 in it would make the front end a bit overly heavy and really kill what makes the Fiesta so good, and unless they go down a bi-turbo or twin charged route that Ford have never done, I don't see the 1.6 being able to handle a lot more power. Obviously 250bhp can be squeezed from it, going down a hybrid turbo, bigger intake and exhaust system, remapping, larger intercooler, etc; but all of that leaves no room for further tweaks and such, and is pushing the engine to max output before really digging deep into the penny jar.

I really don't see a 230bhp Fiesta being worthy of an RS badge if honest.

Id like an escort but personally id preffer another focus :) im a big fan of the current focus RS and the mk1 RS but its mainly just the style of the car im not a big fan of the longer type cars ie mondeo and escort etc. Dont get me wrong if I had the chance of one id bite someones hand of for it ha!

Nope my industry insiders say were getting the Escort back because the Escorts have cult status in the UK, where the Focus doesnt. It'll be UK only, Euro will still be called Focus

Rebranding focus to escort just seems wrong lol

Used to have an Escort RS Turbo. What an awesome car for the time, it was a G reg pity I put it into a ditch, but hey ho :(

I think Escort re-branding would be a good move but would have to look different to Focus to be believable.

I seen a mk 2 focus RS that colour and although it stood out it wasnt very nice lol

I doubt they will, I'd have thought they'd add it as a saloon Focus really. Focus is like the 3rd best selling car on the market in UK, and I believe it may even be the first worldwide, so they're not going to ditch that.
