Hello all thanks for looking at my topic!!!

Bought a 1.6 16v Zetec S yesterday and there appears to be a few issues with it. First off let me start by saying it has the 1.7 16v puma lump in it.

1) The idling when I press down the clutch sticks at 2000 for a short period of time then reduces back down to just above 1000.

2) Gearbox:

It whines in fifth gear between 35-50 mph. Also It has started doing it in first and second. When I press the clutch down, at a standstill it is fine but when I take my foot off the clutch it sounds like a spinning of some sort and a slight whining.

I hope this makes sense to some of the Ford enthusiasts out there as I am stuck and fuming as you can imagine because I only bought this yesterday!!

Please, if any at all, provide information and tips or options to rectify this issue.

Im taking it back to the guy I bought it off of today so hopefully I can get it sorted.
