Prep?

Featured Replies

I've just bought an 09 plate Focus and waiting for the paperwork to go through/funds from finance company to be released, anyway I've been down today and on the car is written -

'B' car

Prep = £300

Paint = £150

Alloys = £80

Paint and alloys i understand as there was a bit of touch up to do on the front bumper and one of the alloys was scuffed, but what is this prep? Surely they can't have estimated a wash and hoover to be £300??

Cheers

Dean

That prep will be the labour and the others are for cost of paint to do it I suppose.

Im nervous to see what the B stands for...

The cars usually get a full valet to remove any storage/shipping dirt, fit batteries/plates/radios, and are checked for brske functionality.

Remember back a few years when loads of surplus cars were stored in old depots and airfields? Some used to come into dealers with rusted on brakes and bushes growing up into wheel arches and engine bays.

I remember that! wasnt that were they were trying to flog on the scrappage scheme cars back into UK circulation?
