Drls Fitted But Not Dimming

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have fitted my DrLs but they do. Not seem to dim when head lights are on..

Can anyone help please :-)

did you wire it into the right wire (silly question but have to ask!) also, what if you apply a manual 12v to the wire?

Sounds daft, but did you actually buy the kit with the dimming switch ?

That's what I am not sure what colour the side light wire is...

And it didn't come with a switch but It stated on the description it dims :-/

If you have a 12v tester you first need to make sure your connected to the side light circuit , there should be then 2 spare wires , one wire will , completely turn the drl off when side light is turned on and the other dims them , so you w=end up with one wire that does not need to be connected , check out my guide it may help you with the wire colour for the side light circuit.

Just seen on the company I bought them from that the wire doesn't go to the side it goes to the main beam so will try that tomorrow !!! Long wait for delivery and now a long wait to get them working !!!

to be fair it shouldnt matter, the electrical output should be the same anyway... so having it connected to an electrical source should allow it to switch off as its receiving a current...

Let us know how it goes anyway, and if you feel they are good, post a link to it! I am keeping my eye out for some good and reasonably priced DRL's.

All fitted and sorted now take a look at my thread :-) see what you think to them

what was the issue in the end?

it had to be wired into the main beam not the side light to fix the problem

just seen that on the other thread. Thanks GMJ :)
