What Does This Price Sound Like?

Featured Replies

Im normally s#%&hot at saving money and not paying over the odds for things, anyway for those of you who remember or spend too long on here i had my water pump replaced a few months ago, and on that front its all okay, anyway the drive belts were renewed just before and they are stretch belts, the garage that did the pump had a tool for re using stretch belts which saved me a few quid at the time, well now the sod wont stop chirpy squeek squeek! New belt time, its also come to my attention that the AC is very low or completely dry of gas or oil this wants doing aswell, now the only garage in my area that will do AC has quoted me £120 for both jobs and an original ford belt as they are in the Good garage scheme, the AC service includes oil and gas replenishment and pressure and leak checks, the thing that is getting me is that the office dope reckons 4 hours for the AC is this right?

Thanks.

A proper A/C service would cost around £100 on its own. So the price sounds reasonable. There is no way it would take 4 hours though. If it did, it would cost you a lot more than that. Garages charge £80 an hour.

The way he quoted it to me maybe made it sound more like that, i think he meant if i drop the beast off thenit would be ready for me in 4 hours.

I paid £60 or was it £70 ... For an aircon service, that included clean, regass and oil change and then a report, that was from an accident repair centre opposite our office :)
