2004 Fiesta Ghia 5 Door Alarm Problems

Featured Replies

Hello, we have just brought a 2004 fiesta ghia 5 door and its great but were having problems with the alarm, it keeps going off randomly and when it does the central locking doesn't lock because it thinks a door is open,

I would think its to do with a door sensor I have tried disconnecting the one under the bonnet but this does nothing at all...

Tried disconnecting the boot one and it sets the alarm straight off...

Please help me pin point it more ....

Thanks

Ford use a perimiter alarm so the first thing to do is establish which door is the problem, open all of the windows all the way and lock the car when you open a door from the outside it will alarm, to overcome the alarm sounding you could just single lock the car, I believe this doesn't set the alarm in the first place, then I would call a good auto electrician as he will most likely have seen it before and sort it pretty quickly and cheaply.
