Anyone Know What This Plug Is For?

Featured Replies

As some of you may know from my build thread, I've just fitted the black interior from an ST

One removing my old courtesy light and connecting up the new one, I have a funny looking plug left over that doesnt appear to plug into the light anywhere

its on the same loom as the rest of the courtesy light wiring so i'm not sure as to where it goes

It's not for the intrusion sensors as their connected up n working (tested it) and its not for the festoon or map lights as their all lit up n working

My submarine lights arent working but I think thats cause it requires a little extra wiring n connecting to the headlight switch so is unrelated to this plug

So whats this plug n wheres it plug into?

you not got access to haynes manual and look up the wire colours?

nope

just thought about looking at pree's wiring schematics upload, but its just made my eyes go funny

electrochromatic rear view mirror?

Is it not for the Mic? or do you already have that

nope

i had a look but couldnt find the wire colours

The electro-chromic interior mirror has three wires :- Black/Orange, Green/Red and Orange.

The voice control microphone has two wires :- Red/White and Black.

Given what I see from Brigante's pictures I'd say it's for the voice control microphone which if fitted would be behind the little grille abaft of the interior light.

behind the little grille abaft of the interior light.

That's a truly nautical term.

I'm not always naughty-cal, but may be persuaded for a suitable fee :-)

Oh, and "left hand down a bit chief"

thats cleared that up

nice one chaps

i dont have voice control so this must be why the wires loose

all i unplugged was the wires going into the courtesy light, didnt touch the mirror etc

so after connecting all the wires back to the courtesy light i had this left over n couldnt remember if it was already loose or if i'd unplugged it
