Fiesta 1.25 Zetec Clutch Problems

Hi all,

I'm having problems with a fiesta, can select any gear but clutch wont engage.

Its as if the clutch pedal is constantly depressed. Does anyone have any ideas on what to look for or what the problem might be please ? Ive read through other articles online but it seems every other thread is about not being able to select gears with the engine running but i can put the car in any gear even with the engine running and no foot on the clutch.

Any help/ideas would be greatly received

    Sounds like the clutch pedal spring needs replacing. stick your head in the footwell and look up the pedal of the clutch and you will see the spring, its probably stretched or snapped...

    Sounds like clutch has worn right out, has the clutch been slipping prior to this happening? Is there a burnt smell from the engine bay with the bonnet open?
