Fiesta 1.2 Mk6 Locking And Unlocking Issue

Hi there,

I have had a problem with my fiesta for a couple of months now.

The key doesn't seem to lock and unlock when pressing the buttons on the key. It can sometimes take me a good minute just pressing away at the button.

The battery was replaced last month so I don't think its that.

I really don't want to get a new key as they are £100...

Any ideas??

    You can try taking it apart, I don't know how easy that would be though. My colleague had a similar issue with his renault megane keycard thing, took it apart and saw a rather obvious connection had come loose, he soldered it back on and it is still working 3 years later.

    If your key is anything like my mk1 focus key though, may be easier said than done!

    I'm not taking the key apart because they have a 18 second memory before you have to get it re-programmed which costs £25..
