Help, Rear Wheel Squeeking / Scraping When Breaking

Featured Replies

Hi, so recently iv had this noise on my rear passanger wheel when im breaking from about 20mph downwards its a squeek / scrape scrape scrape noise, the thing is i dont have brakes on the back just my disks on the front brakes ? iv had it in to my mechanic and he said he cant see anything wrong but bring it back if its gets any worse =/ in the morning when i take it out its fine but the longer i drive it the more it becomes apparent, i still have warranty with ford until september but i dont think it will be covered for something like this? or even to get a diagnostic of what the problem is, and then take it to my mechanic ?

the cars a 2010 ford focus titanium diesel

Hope someone can help me

thanks billy

sounds like the rear drum needs removed and the brake shoes inspected they may be worn or have a fault unless the mechanic removed the drum he cant determine nothings wrong take it back tell them its a safety concern and you want the drum properly inspected

+1 above

Could be a knackered shoe or installed incorrectly.

If you have the ability, maybe get the car to the position where it's doing it constantly, get it on the drive, jack it up, spin it by hand a d get someone to dab the brakes. You may hear or be able to get a better location for the noise.
