Correct Way To Put Code Into Radio To Get It To Work

Can someone kindly give destructions on putting the code into my radio/cd player so that it works please (and not with a hammer either lol)

If it's a 6 button radio then you scroll through the codes one number at a time using buttons 1-4.

Example-

Code 4321

Prrss button 1 four times, button 2 three times, button three twice, button 4 once then press 5 to enter.

If it's the 12 button radio then directly enter the code as if dialling a phone and press * to enter.
