Upgrade Focus Mk2 Radio Using A Focus Mk3 Dab Radio

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I was just wondering is it possible to replace a Focus mk2 radio with a radio from a mk3? Basically I want the extra features like DAB and bluetooth without buying a non-Ford stereo (because of the look). And is there anywhere can I buy such Ford stereos?

Any insight or advice would be much appreciated.

Steve

the mk2 and mk3 are totally different units so they wont fit if you mean a mk2 to a mk2.5 then it can be done but you need more than just the stereo you need the bluetooth module a dab ariel extra supply for the ariel and various other bits

Thanks I had a feeling that would be the case. Any idea where I can get a ford radio with dab and bluetooth or is it just a case of 2nd hand ebay searching?

it doesnt come with bluetooth its supplied via a seperate module fitted in the car that can be fitted to certain ford stereos brigante knows more than me or stoney and lenny

Any sony radio designed for the MK2.5 Focus will have the correct buttons gor a bluetooth interface.

To add the bluetooth connectivity you need the compatible module, wiring harness, microphone/roof panel with the microphone mount and a steering control with the voice dial button.

To bypass all the hassle of hunting for all the parts and fitting you could just fit a Parrot bluetooth system which has streaming capabilities so you can play music from a phone wirelessly too.

If you still want the stereo to be a bit more modern looking have a peek at my radio upgrade guide (link below my signature picture).

Once you have the parts the job takes 20 - 30 minutes tops.

Thanks. From the pictures in your guide it looks like I already have a mk2.5 radio just no dab on it. So are there mk2.5 radios that do have dab?
