Abs Light On After Front Wheel Bearing Change On Fiesta 2005

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

Have just had my offside front wheel bearing changed on my 2005 fiesta freestyle and have noticed that the abs light is still on.Was told by garage that it should go off itself but it is still on. Any advice before I take it back to the garage.Have looked on forums and seen that possible causes could be damaged sensor incorrect fitting of bearing.does the light need to be reset after bearing change ? Or should it go off itself and also what is the correct way of fitting the bearing?

cant remember exact set up on the car but number of reasons for light.

some bearings have the abs pick up built in so could be

non abs bearing fitted

bearing fitted wrong way round

bearing damaged on fitting

abs sensor problem

if all is well, a triggered light would usually turn itself off after a few yards of driving, but occasionly needs faults removed manually

will need plugging in to see whats happening so take it back
