Replacing 2013 Sync Standard Unit With 2011 Sony Dab Whats Required??

Featured Replies

I imagine Sync is pretty integrated into the car, the head unit does not do much other than drive the speakers and provide the radio tuner, etc. - the physical parts if you will.

The car talks across the CAN bus and different parts do different things to bring an all-in-one connected system. Gone are the days of everything being controlled by a central head unit - the screen does a lot of the controlling iirc.

It might work, but even on a non Sync car, my old Fiesta didn't work with all the buttons on the Sony.

It won't work with Sync so if you're looking to get rid of Sync I believe you will also need a Bluetooth/USB module and possibly wiring loom.

Did you ever find out if this worked Steve?

Anyone in Sussex / Hampshire / Surry got a Bluetooth / USB module I could try?
