Guest
Hi Guys, Post number 3.... I've noticed on the right side of my Front Bumper just under the light that it's slightly sagging and i can see the the bolts holding it, now i thought to myself it could have been the previous owner scrapping the bottom of the bumper on a curb and i was right, it looks like the bumper got caught and its bent the plastic around the bolts, is there anyway of repairing this with ease? Thanks Ed
artscot79
With the mk1 you could simply heat it up not sure on the newer ones
Guest
I'll take a picture when i can and put it up on the forum to show you, but if it is a case of heating it up, how would i go about doing that? Thanks
johnH
Probably using a heatgun would be the way forward, or you could ask a body shop to see how much they are willing to do it for...may work out the same for time, effort and cost of buying heat gun
Guest
Hi John, I may get a bodyshop to do it as i dont want to ruin my car! Its literally just the bolts that look like they've belt into the plastic, maybe if i try to tighten the bolt it would raise it?
johnH
Wont harm to try, but obviously dont over tighten them as you will cross thread them.
Guest
i'll give it a go, but i wont try too much as you said i dont want to ruin the thread! On another note.... the middle panel in my car (the silverish panel around the gear stick and lighter socket) its scratched and stained slightly by previous owner, any cleaning product you think of that could remove this? or is it easy to replace it? Cheers!
