Revving High

Featured Replies

Hi hope someone can help

I have a focus 16 zetec 2002 which revs high whether car moving or not . this just happened whilst driving there was no signs of a problem beforehand .

I have read forums and checked all hoses for splits and theres none . changed icv . cleaned maf unit with electrical spray and checked spring on throttle and carpet not sticking at pedal . also when I unplug the new icv cables the revving stops but car will obviously cut out unless put foot on pedal a little . as soon as I plug new or old icv in the car over revs again .

I am out if ideas . anyone help ?

thanks

Sounds like you might have a duff sensor (possibly Lambda) sounds like the car is reading incorrect values at the exhaust and is compensating by adding more fuel...
