Clutch

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Just wanted to ask to see if this is normal..

Normally first thing when you drive the car the clutch seems stiff and the bite is right at the bottom. After ive drove for a bit it then losens up and the bite becomes quite high imo.

Is this normal or an indication of something wearing out? The thrust release bearing is on the way out as from time to time you can hear the tapping which goes silent when clutch is down.

the bite point should remain consistent, so, no, its not right

either have air in the system or a leak, judging by your description of noise, chances are its the slave cylinder/bearing

Check when the car last had its gearbox fluid changed, it should share the brake fluid I believe.

If the fluid hasnt been changed, then it might be worth a flush and a change, as thats the cheapest option, then see if the issue persists.
