Hello To All - New Zs

Featured Replies

Hey all,

Just joined the owners club after switching from a Ford Mondeo Estate 2.0TDCI (fantastic reliable car) to a new Ford Fiesta Zetec S 1.0T Ecoboost.

Im only 20 years of age, and have driven several peugeot's and kias before going on to fords and sticking firmly with them.

I decided after a long thought to go with a copper pulse metallic paint (which lookes great), with privacy glass, 17" alloys, DAB radio and Spare wheel.

It really is a great car (had it now for 6days) and i love it.

The engine is fairly pacey for a 1 litre and i am really pleased. (i will upload pics soon).

Is there any car meets or events in which would be good for ford owners?

Welcome i have a red one =)

Hi and welcome to FOC.

Must be quite a difference going from a Mondeo Estate to a Fiesta. I'd love to know how you feel the ecoboost engine pulls compared to the 2.0 TDCi too.

Hi Guys, thanks for your welcome.

Alex - I had a Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDCI Estate (53reg vehicle) - The car is still with us, its very useful and generally like a tank - Sooo reliable.

Its now done 161,000 miles and still going very strong.

I used the estate for pulling caravans and trailers (to earn money when i was 18). The insurance was hefty for the car engine size.

The estate is sluggish but fairly - powerful (especially from 3rd gear to 5th gear.)

To answer your question the little 1 litre engine in which i previously laughed at, is far more superior than the 2.0 estate, more pacey and shares more power.

But if im towing a caravan i know which one i would choose ;)

I was originally going to get the new 1.6 diesel ecoboost fiesta, as i turned my nose up at a 1litre and laughed.

I was later forced to eat humble pie when i actually drove the 1 litre.

The mondeo estate was built for motorway journeys, comfort, hefty boot space and towing.

The fiesta was for me built for driving a bit more upmarket.

0 - 60 - the mondeo would not stand a chance.... and its twice the capacity in engine size.

Just goes to show the progress ford are making with engine maintenance.

Welcome to the family!
