New to the forum so hello lol. Recently purchased a focus 57 reg its the 1.6 tdci zetec climate. To be honest with you guys I'm disappointed. No pull in 1st gear around 20-25mph is annoying as you have to play catch up in 2nd and 3rd which have a good pull.

Car has done 48.000. I'm just waiting for my turbo to blow up to be honest well hope it happens within the 1 year cover I've got! A lot of my work mates have told me it most likely will happen. Can get a turbo from my work but they don't offer warranty with them due to this reason lol.

Hi and welcome to FOC.

Sorry to hear its been a disappointment. Do you think the turbo is causing the lack of power?

I'll be honest most of the diesels I have driven dont have a great deal of power in 1st gear, mine is not too bad if you really ask for it, most of the power is in 2nd and 3rd.

Hi Alex

Don't think there is a problem with the turbo no as it pulls well in 2nd and 3rd like you say. Might just be the way it is. I did hear rummors that ford have a map or something to adjust how fast it revs in 1st. Don't know if this is true or not to be honest.

Car has only done 48,000 I'd like to think the turbo would hold out quite a bit longer than that hehe

Hi and welcome to the Forums

Regular oil changes should see your turbo last much longer than 48,000

Welcome to the family!

I'm starting to have problems already with the car so its going back and there sorting me out with something else. I'm thinking of going with a 1.6 petrol 08 plate titanium. Any common issues with them does anyone know? Thanks
