Focus 1.6P Zetec How Hard To Change The Timing Belt.

Featured Replies

My son in law has just bought a one owner from new 1.6 petrol Zetec focus 2002 with 65.000mls on the clock,

Its never had the cambelt change just wondering how hard a job it is on this model of focus,

I have changed one on my wifes single cam 1.6 Astra and also the belt on my 200tdi Landrover engine,

Just wondering what components will be needed along with a new belt and any special tools.

Nick.

If its anything like the old 1.6 Zetec se engine it's fairly straight forward with the correct locking kit and a tool for holding the cam pullies tight while you slacken/tighten the bolts.
