Central Locking

Featured Replies

Just got home. Parked the car and pressed the lock on the remote fob but didnt get the usual clunk of the deadlock engaging. The lights flash as normal but locking does not occur. I tried central locking the doors whilst inside using the drivers side lock which normally locks all other doors and nothing.

What Im having to do is lock each door manually and lock the drivers door from outside.

I reckon it must be the electrical side of the central locking system which isnt working.

Anyone else have any ideas before i take it to my local garage.

so the doors lock from the inside, but not the central locking switches. (even key in driver door?) sounds like it could be an earthing issue, or a faulty central locking system in which case, its best to take it to a garage.

Yeah tried it again this morning, having to manually lock from the inside, the rear and front passenger doors, and use the key on the drivers side to secure the car.

I'll try replacing the two fuses for central locking, which are 133 (25amp) & 134 (20amp), see if that makes a difference, if not off to the garage next week :(

Sorted it, was the fuse no: 133 - Central locking relays, passenger door module. You can see the break in the fuse below:

It's listed as a 25amp fuse in the Ford manual, but it only had a 10amp fuse. I think I should put a 25amp fuse in, so it matches the manual to be on the safe side, anyone think this is a bad idea?

I would say it probably should be a 25'er, but it seems a lot to me! stick a 15 in, and work your way up if the fuse blows again...

Yeah I think this is good advice 'better safe than sorry' :afro:
