My 1.8 LX Focus has developed a problem , when driving and then stopping when I put it into neutral , the engine revs up to 4.000RPM for a few seconds (6/8 ) and then comes down and will then stall - it has seen better days but to me its an old friend = any advice = please.

    Best get it hooked up for a scan to get codes but possibly idle control

    my guess is idle control valve too. try cleaning it out before forking out for a new one
