Reverse Camera - 2013/13 Plate Fiesta Titanium 1.0T - Retrofitting

Featured Replies

I collect my new 13 plate Fiesta (1.0T 100ps Ecoboost Titanium, 5dr) Monday. I was due to have one in Nautical Blue but I didn’t like it one bit so I’ve gone for a Frozen White instead. If anyone out there is thinking about Nautical Blue then do your homework first. It’s a real opinion splitter so check it out in the flesh first.

Back to the subject in hand, I like the idea of the reversing camera and it’s not fitted to the new car. I do like the fact that the Ford system engages when you put it in reverse and the steering angle is reflected in the guide lines on screen etc. Just appears to work well as a system. However, does anyone know what’s involved in getting one fitted and/or Ford to fit one? Is it something that can be retrofitted anyway? What connections does it use and how’s it wired in etc? Any help or guidance welcome.

Much appreciated.

PS: Will post pics of new car as soon as I can. Thanks all.

You'd be looking at hundreds of £££'s for parts from Ford so you're only option really is aftermarket (a display mounted somewhere or an integrated rear view mirror & display)

Nath is right, your looking at around £500-£700 to have that done, even aftermarket isnt cheap.

This is why i added to it to my order for £250, bargain in my opinion!!

Hmm, shame. That'll be aftermarket parking sensors then. Thanks for the info, much appreciated both.

Have a look here http://www.parkingcameras.com/store/home.php

Might be able to get it done for £3-400 if you shop about

Aftermarket shouldn't be that expensive. I bought the parts for mine but sold the car before I had a chance to fit.

If you get things from China the rear view mirror/monitor is about £50 I think plus £20 for a camera that replaces one of the number plate lights (has light built in to it too)

Just need to wire it in yourself.

A waterproof wide angle camera is less than a tenner and a 4.3'' lcd screen is about £15. The camera wires into the reversing lamp wires in the rear light cluster and fits neatly and invisibly into the black section of the rear bumper.

The screen sits happily in front of the gear lever and you can power it from the same circuit or from the 12 v socket. Sorted. Far cheaper than reversing peepers.
