Iron X

Featured Replies

Can somebody give me advice on using iron x.

All sounds a bit scary to me.

Step by step idiots guide would be helpful

All you have to do is spray it on either the bodywork or alloys, wait 5-10 minutes. Watch it all turn purple (you'll see the dirt run). Simply wash off the purple with a hose pipe. You should now have a 99% iron free car

Then you're done :D. It's a really good product and easy to use. Be warned though it absolutely stinks!!

Cheers

Then I can was clay polish wax etx etc

Yes, after you used Iron-X your paint will be a bit dull and dry. You definitely will have to wax after it. Used it on my Benz after i did some restoration on the bottom (outside while it was fairly windy  ) and al the iron particles from grinding were burnt in the laquer. The other day after the car had been wet from dew it was al rusted.

If you went over the paint it felt like sandpaper. I first clayed it to remove the iron/rust particles, then Iron-X and all the orange/brownish discoloring was gone. Great stuff.

Just look at the pic to see how bad it was, nothing to see afterwards!

Do you really need to iron x or can you just clay

In my case i really needed to Iron-X it. After i clayed it all the iron/rust particles were gone, didn't feel like sandpaper anymore, Paint was really smooth but although about 20 % of the rust color was gone, most of it was still there. Sprayed Iron-X on, immediately it turns purple, little scrubbing with a soft cloth and after rinsing the discolouring was completely gone. I didn't believe it would work before i used it because of the severity of the rust but it really amazed me how good it works.

The Iron-X goes into the pores of the paint, clay doesn't reach it.

Don't know why you want to use it or where. Most people use it on they're rims but if you live or park near a railroad you will also have flyrust on your car and for that it works brillant.

But as said, definitely wax after it, if you used Iron-X you will feel why. And if you already have Iron-X, you can Always test a little spot to see what it does, i did before doing my whole car. (my pic is from the door but the whole roof and engine hood looked the same.............. also my windows felt like sandpaper and i clayed them to. I also Iron-X'ed them)

But you can always first try to clay, less agressive on the paint but much more work ;)
