Focus Zetec 04 Knocking Feeling Through Break Pedal

Featured Replies

Hi all

Recently bought a zetec mk1 1.8.

It seems as though you feel the abs going through the pedal (opening and closing of the breaks when applied). It doesnt happen all the time but becomes worse once the car is fully warmed up and driven for a few miles. You don't feel it through the steering and I'm sure its coming from the front. Also it seems to feel like it is going over very close bumps even on a smooth road, but this is also intermittent, only seems to happen every few minutes, sometimes after breaking and vice versa with the bumping feeling.

Recent mot had no advisory on the breaks so its not worn pads or discs

Any help would be great :)

I can also add that it is mostly at low speed where it is noticeable. I've heard about some kind of 12mph abs check but I'm not sure it is that tbh

Thanks all
