Damaged At A Garage!

Featured Replies

Took my mk7 ZS into a local garage last night to get the aircon regassed, took the car home and noticed that the nearside front wheel and tyre had a mark on it. Looked closer and saw the alloy had been scuffed and the sidewall of the tyre has a nice 3-4mm deep flappy chunk! , took some photos and got in touch with them today (as the garage shut 15mins after i picked my car up)

I thought it was a long shot at getting them to admit responsibility and basicaly theyre saying i must of hit a curb and not realised! I only live literally 2 mins around the corner and my road isnt a finnish rally stage lol. With the damage that has been done i would of definately realised i'd hit something

Looks like i'll be forking out for a new tyre :(

What garage was this at? Hit them with the ombudment or trading standards....try contacting there head office, these kind of thing make them !Removed! themselves and end up sorting it for you :)

Just a local one near where i live (not a nationwide chain). Been speaking with the garage and they are adiment they didnt damage the wheel so given up with it now. Me and my family wont be using them for anything in the future now though <_< . So its them thats lost out on mot's and possible other work

Ahh right :) yeah its there loss especially if they are just an independent garage! I would still try hit them with trading standards

Unfortunately you're going to struggle as you've left the place >.<

I always take photo's before my car goes anywhere without me, and then make sure I closely inspect when I pick the car up, and make whoever collects my car sign to say there's no damage, like they do when you take one of their cars.

I'd be furious if that was me!

Don't let them get away with it, bombard them with crap until they do something about it, tell them your going to the local paper as you want to make other locals aware of their bad service, stuff like that

That's a good idea, that way you're both covered in case the worse does happen!

Yep, last time when my car had to go in the company saw fit to put a scrape on my back light, drivers side rear quarter, knackered my side skirts by not jacking the car properly and decided I no longer needed my footwell LED's; true cowboy job there >_> luckily they hadn't got a leg to stand on. They also had the cheek to say I'd chewwed up the wheel on their car too...

b1g_dav3 yeah i know thats the only problem as didnt realise till after i had left. Never thought about it at the time as we've never had a problem there before and i was more bothered about checkign the air con lol. I wont be so trusting next time!

Still I'd send them letters and threaten the small claims court, even if you loose it's not too pricey, will cost them more in lost hours probably.
