Driver Wing Mirror

Featured Replies

hi all

does anyone know how to tighten the wing mirrors into place, my drivers side moves alot more than just vibration in the car and want to tighten it before it gets any worse??

any ideas ??

I'm not 100% sure but on the mk6 you just have to remove the interior mirror trim to expose the retaining nut, so I reckon on the mk7 you will have to remove the door card, then the securing nut will be behind there? Maybe someone else knows for sure though.

Havn't done any work on my wing mirrors so dont exactly know what is involved to remove/secure it properly but i do know that the retaining nut is behind a big round rubber type grommet on the inside of your door, just pull it and it is easily removed. If it is the same as mine you should see a stud with a spline end to it and a nut on the stud. As said , not sure what is the proper method to tighten, but hopefully if it is really loose it should be obvious as to what exactly needs tightening. :)
