Engine Problem Possible Lambda Sensor, Need Help!

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have had this problem for some time now and it is getting on my nerves as it passes and does not return or happens all the time.

When casually driving down the road or to work which i have to drive on both rural roads and a motorway so between 10mph to 80mph, my car enters into like a kind of hopping down the road where i lose power but am still able to drive down the road, i can put my foot down on the accelerator a bit further and it hops a little more then stops hopping and i regain power and shoot off. When i go back to driving like a normally at the speed limit it will happen again. This happens when i pull off from a sitting start where i do drive off but there is no power to even gain speed so im literally limping across a road or into a roundabout until i hit the floor with the accelerator pedal.

I have checked twice with a onboard computer and nothing appears on it. The engine management light has come on once but showed no fault when plugged into a computer at a ford garage. It has not come on since and was checked again few months ago and showed no results of anything reading a fault.

I have talked to many friends and people who have experience in the motor industry and mechanics but am not 100% sure it is what they tell me, i have been told it is the lambda sensor switching badly between 1v and 0v and needs replacing.

This problem still occurs today and still persists, want to try and fix my car before i try to sell it.

If anyone can help in the slightest then thank you very much.
