What car mods do you need to tell you insurance company about.

Do you need to tell them about factory fit option like alloys an reverse sensors.

If I put on wind deflectors.

What can you get away with doing.

Advice wouldbe good

Simple rule for peace of mind is to ask your insurance company.

As advised in above post, your best option is to give them a call mate,

Every insurance company has a different view on this type of thing,

My insurance company said

''fit anything you want and tell us, if it increases performance then it will increase your insurance premium, but if its just lights and body panels they will only increase your insurance policy if you want them to be covered for replacement in the event of them being damaged in an accident''

I've now got a full licence with 4 years no claims bonus,

My focus was a style spec and now a modified zetecS my insurance is 1,400euro

Drl's reduced my premium by 20euro so not all modifications are bad,

Yeah speak with your insurance company, I used to work for Direct Line and we needed to know even about optional extras, wind deflectors I don't think they need to know about. Some insurers won't cover anything that increases your bhp and some don't need to know about little accessories.
