Mk6 Tdci Radiator Fan Not Working?

Featured Replies

Anyone had a problem with their radiator fan? I'm pretty sure mine isn't working - I wouldn't expect it to come on much in the normal course of running 'cos the engine very rarely gets that hot, but I believe that it should be running if the air-con is on - can anyone confirm this?

My air-con (recently regassed) works really well when driving, but when stationary and at idle, it will only run for a short period before tripping out, and it will then constantly switch on and off. To me, this suggests the problem is that the condenser is not getting cooled by the radiator fan as it should be, and the fan is certainly never on - I'm sure I remember hearing it occasionally at idle before.

Checked all fuses are ok already.

Any thoughts?
