Hello all - my drivers side electric window stopped working back when we had some snow down south - I called ford and asked how much for a new motor and quoted me £300 I've checked all the fuses but they are all fine anyone recommend anything else I can't do ?? 2003 ford focus

could be as simple as the switch? have you tested it?

No I haven't tested it, the left switch works though for the passenger side!

As jeeb said check the switch you never know even though one sides ok could still point to a fault in the other maybe, I'm no expert on the switch or how it works though.

Maybe even the motor has packed up.

£300! try an online breakers and about an hour of your time at most to strip and rebuild it. Definitely time to start taking things apart to find the fault.

Replacing the motor is relatively easy from what ive read on here,check it all first though,the button itself usually has some sort of plastic tiny clip that pushes a small piece of metal,the plastic can break off easily in some cars meaning its not even making a contact.

try moving the wires over to the passenger switch and see if that makes a difference. I would investigate the switch as its much cheaper and easier in the long run!
