Hello Everyone ...help!!!

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, I'm having real problems with my 2004 1.8 tdci focus. It will not start from cold, and is still hard to start when warm. I have changed glow plugs, tested to make sure they are coming on. Cam position sensor. The car runs a bit lumpy when it does start and when I accelerate hard the glow plug light flashes, until I turn off the engine a restart. I have cleaned the egr out. I called the rac out and he connected his computer to it and he said the fuel pressure was too low and that it was the regulator so replaced that too, but still the problem persist!! The only sensors that I have not changed are the ones on the fuel pump. Any ideas I'm really about to give up!!

Have you changed the fuel filter?

It sounds like injectors to me,

do a leak off test ,

if you don't have a kit, make one using small mouthwash bottles & buy a reel of leak off hose from somewhere like Wilco & cut enough to make 4 bottles with hoses in the tops , during engine cranking you should not get any flow in the bottles with the engine running for 2 mins, no more than 20ml in each bottle,

refur to ford for correct figure but somewhere near should be ok, if you see some way out then you will probably need to replace the faulty injectors,

check your fuel filter housing/pipes from your engine bay to your injectors for cracks/splits leakage, especially around the fuel filter area.... i had a code u1900 and a low pressure system come up on mine last weekend after doing the filter... turned out to be a slight leakage from my 2nd injector... after i forced air throu the system.... ended up taking the injector out and replacing the seal fitting, ran for a day and did a code scan and nothing there everything normal.... my block seems to be a little damp but i just think this was from where it was blowing out from.... i carnt see no bubbles and diesel coming out from my injector no more......
