Hi guys,

Thinking about getting a phone mount for my car.

Obviously there are two types of solutions: the window suction type mount, and the air vent clip type mount.

I want the latter, as it allows for easier cable routing (aux and charger), and my phone overheats easily when navigation is running - so an air vent blowing onto its back would be ideal.

So far I have looked at 2 cheap options on fleabay:

The phone I have is a One X.

So here are my Q's:

1. Does anyone have any other product recommendations? (A bit skint at the moment, so nothing too fancy lol)

2. Out of the two links I posted, which looks/is better? (more stable etc)

3. Any other useful/relevant advice?

The best car mounts by far are made by a company called Brodit.

They aren't cheap but are well worth the cost.

I have 3 in my work vehicle for various mounting needs and are pretty much bombproof.

I got the following one which can 'hook' onto you airvents.

Once you've molded it to how you want it it does the job for me.

Easy enough. I wrapped it round the phone as i wanted it then hooked it using the two 'arms' at the top to the air vent. Then it's just a case of putting the phone in/taking the phone out via the top

Haven't had to fiddle with it since.

Brodit don't sell directly but many companies do carry them.

The deal is that you buy the car specific mount then choose the phone holder to match your phone and attach the two together.

Makes it a bit pricier but gives you full range to get exactly what you need.

I found some on eBay too, but all of them are 20 pounds or more for the mount alone. It looks great, but I think I'll have to pass this time round, as it seems too expensive. (But will get it if mine turns out crap.)

Meanwhile, I have found a cheap one (5.95) on Amazon with good reviews, gonna try that. Thanks once again.
