4th Gear Judder 1.8 TDCI sport HELP!!!! Power loss

Featured Replies

Ive had this problem for Months now.. Sometimes Especially Up hills It will Judder and loose power, most notibally in 4th gear, The garage could find no faults and assured me It wasnt the EGR valve which is what a First suspected. Can anyone offer me another avenue to persue? Its been to 2 Separate Garages now And both couldnt Find a fault, It definately runs a bit rougher these days and the Judder is becoming more Frequent. Any help would be great.

I would also suspect the EGR valve as this is a common fault, I assume the car has ran out of warranty?

Are you sure it's definatly an engine problem? Not the clutch slipping is it?

I suppose you could try and recreate the fault, don't drop it down a gear when it starts to hesitate, just try to drive through it, this may bring the MIL on and give you a DTC (diagnostic trouble code) to follow with a diagnostic computer.

check all your air hoses for leaks or damage.
