Hi to all. I need some advice on my car for towing,

Focus Ghia 2002,Duratorq TDCi 1.8,115 PS,85KW on the VIN plate we have the following kg from top to bottom.

176O KG

3060 KG

960 KG

920/970 KG

I dont know the kerb weight.

I need to know the tow weight.

It seems to me that:

1760 kg is your Gross Vehicle Weight. This is not your kerb weight. It's the maximum weight permissible on the road for your vehicle when fully loaded.

3060 Kg is your Gross Train Weight. This is the maximum weight permissible on the road for your vehicle and trailer when both are fully loaded.

960 Kg is your front axle weight limit

920/970 Kg is your rear axle weight limit

You'll see therefore that your maximum towing weight is GTW - GVW = 3060 Kg - 1760 Kg = 1300 Kg (minus anything being carried in your car, (e.g you, your passengers and your fuel).

You don't state whether your car is a 3 dr hatch, 5dr hatch, 4 dr saloon or an estate but whichever it is, your kerb weight will be pretty close to 1300 Kg too.

3dr hatch = 1279 Kg

5dr hatch = 1293 Kg

4dr saloon = 1328 Kg

5dr estate = 1317 Kg

its 1300kg braked according to the book thats if its a 4 door hatch 1.8 tdci 2002 ghia, check your outfit out on http://whattowcar.com for an idea of what you can tow you need a 85% match if your caravans not listed just alter the weights of a similar one to match
